Show Some Love To Your Bags

If your easy excuse for buying a bag that cost an arm is for the next generation's use, you should at least act up to it.  There are countless ways of taking care of your bags, which range from simple dusting off to having it cleaned professionally.

When you have more than one, the storage may pose some problem.  Fine if you have adequate sq. m of storage space to keep them (Gretchen lang ang peg), but for most of us who are just sharing with somebody's closet for some needed space, there is a special care to ensure that our bags will maintain their fitness for the benefit of the next (lucky) generation.

A friend who runs Weddings By Victoria, a wedding coordination business, has ventured into another feat.  She does customized bag fillers, for all types and sizes..

This one needs some professional help, I know.  Soon baby!  In the meantime, the filler will help you maintain your shape.

I stored this once in a box that didn't fit well perfectly and I still regret it to date because of the irreparable damage it caused to the shape.  Glad for the filler.

This bag is so small you can store it just anywhere.  The more reason for the bag filler, right.

This bag will surely see more of the storage box than the light of the day because of the sensitivity of the color.  Hence, the much needed filler.

If you can spend wallet busting bags to add to your collection, the fillers surely wouldn't hurt your pocket at all.  I am sure the benefits surely outweigh the cost.

Happy Red Day!

No matter how you intend to ignore Valentine's Day, the commercial idiosyncrasy of the celebration makes it impossible to do so.

While you had predicament not to treat the day special, you just couldn't help but celebrate with the love bug buzzing around you.  Don't get me wrong, I am definitely not cynical about the V Day. We do celebrate it but not purely in a romantic way, not anymore.  When the two became three, then four and now five, Valentine's Day has become a family day.  After all, the love has spread out.

What color best describes the feeling espoused by Valentine? Red, baby! So, time to bring out the reddest of them all. . .

Happy love month! You still have few days left to celebrate the gift of love, although everyday is an opportunity to thank God for it.

Bluer Than Blue

I am totally in love with color blue.  There is a sense of calmness in it.  While black is a wise color to cover up some imperfections, blue in dark hue, affords me the same effect less the heaviness and seriousness of the color black.

Another trend that catches my attention is scarf print clothes.  I love this top.  Since am more for a simple classy type, the use of monotone scarf print is perfect for me.  It's not overwhelming.

I just acquainted myself with instagram.  Its a great venue to source out novelty and trendy stuff.  I chanced upon prettylittleblings that sell chic bracelets and a lot more.  Didn't have a problem transacting with the lovely owner.  Yay! The joy of online shopping!

Day After Weekend Buffet Dress

No better way to spend weekends than eating out with family.  That means maximum of 6 main meals, excluding in between snacks.  The result is an inevitable pounds and inches added to the already stubborn pounds and inches accumulated.  Naturally so, dressing up on Mondays is an ordeal.

This is the reason why I stocked on shift dresses.  They save me on these days.

Since the print is loud enough, just wore it with a simple necklace.

Joining the vintage Casio watch craze.

As always, heels convert any attire into office-worthy.  The higher the better. This is something I  am willing to sacrifice for fashion's sake.

Another fashion dilemma solved!

Glam On!

Is it too late in a season (or off season) to wear something glittery? I suppose not.

I bought this sequin mini before Christmas.  I was reserving it for an event requiring some dressing up.  Didn't get to wear it not for lack of event but didn't find a perfect top to pair it with.  Anyways, I resolved to wear it soon before it goes out of style.  The fact that it was already put on sale at F21 is a flag that it will soon be.  Anyways, made some serious digging in my closet.  Since the skirt obviously is already embellished, the trick is to keep the top simple.  This nude colored top always saves me from my once in a while fashion dilemma.  The cliche "always stock on basics" passed yet another challenge.

To blend the color of the top with the skirt, I accessorized it with one of the hues (at least in the same family) of the skirt.

I love how the sequins were put together to create those lovely flower figures.  .  . so feminine!

Top: Zara / Skirt: F21 / Shoes: Enzo Angiolini / Necklace: Bazaar find

I wore this in the office and did't get "memoed".  In view of the foregoing, I therefore submit that sequins can be worn during the day or even at casual occasions.   I think sequined pieces will never go out of style if put together right.

Day Off Dress

I was off from motherly duties, at least for few hours.  Since there was no rule in dressing up (like buttons in front for easy feeding), grabbed the opportunity to use this piece I scored on sale.

I just find this dress interesting with the sheer fabric used as accent to a jersey cotton dress.  The feel is so light.  Could actually be used as a house dress, aka "duster", if not for the attitude. :-)  The color combination is very eye-catchy.  No need to pile on accessories.  I will definitely use this often for those no fuss dressing days.

Incidentally, Promod is on their last days on sale with further reduction along with the other leading fashion brands, until Feb. 3 (I think).  Hay! Too much to buy with too little time (not to mention too little finances). :)

TGIF

Yay! Its Friday! Another work week almost accomplished.

Friday comes, I always feel a general sense of defiance from adhering to the norm of corporate dress up which I am bound to follow during the rest of the work week.   While circulars have been issued to emphasize that Friday is not a dress down day, at least in our workplace, people still find their way to dress up less corporate than usual.  I am guilty as charged.

In my defense though, I always incorporate the use of accessories to look decent at least. :)

Pairing any ensemble with a pair of heels never fails to elevate an average Jane look to a top brass Mary.

I think I made a substantial compliance here.

Another piece of advice, have a blazer ready at bay for that unexpected emergency meeting.

Green Minded

Pantone, the authority on color, revealed the Color of 2013: Emerald Green.

Borrowed this blazer from my sister just so I would be "pantone-in".  I just love how the dull white and black color combo turned into something interesting with a green blazer.  As green is said to imitate the color of nature, it enlivens the ensemble.

While the cold weather we are enjoying these days could be the main reason for staying cool headed, the sight of green definitely made its contribution in giving me a calm and serene disposition all day.

I should buy more of this cover up. It gives the illusion of a slim waist (with some excess fats, I heavily rely on illusion at the moment). Hehehe :-)

Its a no brainer that color gold goes well with green.

Can't get enough of this animal print.

My Kind of Classic

I remember when a friend was stressing out in choosing a color motif for her wedding, my very significant contribution was to suggest (actually I was insisting) in pairing any color she thought of with a black accent, unmindful of her Chinese lineage. My point . . any color accentuated with black will be motif perfect.

Gone were the days when black is paired only with white.  Classic color combo for me is any color paired with black.

This black and cobalt blue combo is a perfect example. I just love tops with black trimmings.  It does give one a clean and polished look.

I had a choice to pair the top with my staple black skirt but it might just "de-stressed" the accent on my top.  So I opted to wear another staple, my grey skirt.

Used a belt for added accent.

A classic bag for a classic ensemble - my very abused bag. I just wish this bag will survive to be passed on to the next generation.

I was glad that I could fit in to this pair which I purchased online before I got a bump. They matched perfectly with my top.  While a more colorful pair would work well also, I just wanted to maintain the preppy look.

These pieces are just so classic.  They will surely pass the test of trends.

Glamourbox

I learned of Glamourbox in one of the blogs that I follow.  The idea of receiving a gift every month delivered at your doorstep excites me.  Part of what I am paying is the joy of being in for a surprise.    I know every box is a sure treat because the people behind Glamourbox promised to painstakingly choose the best beauty products available with value three times the money I am paying for.

The idea is for people who are both cynical about beauty products that come out in the market or for those impulsive buyers.  Before buying the product in full size, you get the chance to check them out first if they particularly suit you or not.  This will avoid spending so much for something which will just end up in your pile unused.

Ahh, the joy of opening a box every month. . .

Tadaa . . .

It works two ways to hydrate and rehydrate skin: It increases hydration levels up to 200% and its innovative "12-Hour Progressive Release System" replenishes hydration all day long.

I tried this and I like its feel on my skin.  I felt the instant hydration.  I think it will work wonders for my dry skin.

These products look promising.  I will post more of how they work on me soon.

My Mini Me

My daughter's sense of fashion is unfolding right before my eyes.  Her taste is now more for grown ups.  She is insisting to have the same clothes as mine.  She even wants my sunnies for herself.  Now, she is eating up a major part of my shopping budget.  Am I to blame???????

She loves to do poses too in front of the camera.

She is definitely my mini me.

Animal Appeal

There is certain appeal that always draws me to every clothing piece with animal print.  I find it elegant, stylish, sexy and eye catchy. It keeps prowling every season, hence, a trend which to my simple fashion assessment has already become elevated as a classic piece.

The print speaks enough for itself that you can pair it simply with denim trousers for that effortless yet glamorous outfit.

I can't get enough of these pieces. So you will surely see more of this in my future posts. :)

That Shift Dress

My DH and I were invited to a special wedding.  It was anticipated to be one glam affair considering the rosters of invites.  I didn't want to be left out so I had an outfit tailored-made. Unfortunately, the finish product didn't turn out as I imagined.  The intended purpose of covering up few flaws here and there weren't served.  I just remembered a shift dress brought few months back which was originally intended for casual get ups. I love this piece because the fabric is so soft and the satin material drapes nicely to just the right places and does not cling to the body (definitely a plus factor).  With few accessories, shoes and a clutch to match, the supposedly casual outfit turned out to be party ready.

It was pure luck that I chanced upon this clutch with same pattern as my shoes. I was meaning to use just any of my old clutches but this one caught my attention (as all animal prints do). I just heard it calling my name.  I just had to have it. What is nice about this clutch is that you can actually use it everyday and it will surely make any outfit an instaglam. Unlike other clutch bags, this can carry not just your lippy but a lot lot more. While the price is reasonable, I think this is another piece worth keeping for my daughters' future use especially since animals prints never go out of style.
